The first company within the Torvald Klaveness Group was established in 1946 by the late Mr. Torvald Klaveness. It all started with technical and commercial management and competitive brokering. Since then the Group has gradually expanded and is now one of the largest dry-bulk shipping organizations in the world, consisting of several individual companies. The head office is in Oslo, Norway.
Today, the Group is engaged in brokering, marketing, commercial operation, technical management, consulting as well as shipowning. On average, the Group operates about 150 vessels carrying over 70 million tons of cargo. Among our customers are governments, oil companies, industrial companies and traders as well as individuals.
The Group is privately owned. This ensures long-term commitment and allows a quick decision making process.
